Minimum Qualifications for Country Director

Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field is typically required. A master’s degree in a relevant field can be advantageous.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, or a related field is required. This experience should include progressively responsible roles in marketing or digital marketing, including experience in managerial or leadership positions.

Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and understanding of the digital marketing landscape, industry trends, and best practices. Familiarity with various digital marketing channels, such as social media, search engine marketing, content marketing, and website optimization.

Leadership and Management Experience: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, including experience in managing remote teams or multiple offices. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills are necessary to guide and inspire teams and drive results.

Client Relationship Management: Experience in managing client relationships, including working closely with clients to understand their goals, objectives, and expectations. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client service.

Preferred Qualifications for a Country Director

Agency Experience: Prior experience working in a digital marketing agency or advertising agency is preferred. Understanding agency workflows, client management, and project management in an agency environment is beneficial.

Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen: Ability to think strategically and align marketing strategies with business objectives. Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans and driving business growth.

Sales and Business Development: Experience in sales and business development, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, generating leads, and closing deals. Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth.

Team Building and Development: Experience in building and developing high-performing teams. Proven ability to recruit top talent, provide mentorship and guidance, and foster a collaborative and motivating work environment.

International Experience: Experience working in international markets or managing global teams can be beneficial, particularly if the digital marketing agency operates across multiple countries or regions.

Responsibilities of Country Director

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for the country, aligned with the agency’s overall vision and objectives. Set goals, targets, and KPIs to drive business growth and profitability.

Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the country team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients, and generate leads. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective business development strategies.

Client Management: Oversee client relationships and ensure exceptional client service delivery. Act as a key point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and expectations. Collaborate with the account management team to drive client satisfaction and retention.

Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of the country, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management. Monitor and analyze financial metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to drive profitability.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other country directors, regional or global teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure effective communication, knowledge sharing, and alignment of strategies and initiatives.

Industry and Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and inform strategic decision-making.

Compliance and Operations: Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards. Oversee country operations, including resource allocation, project management, and operational efficiency.
